A Few Raindrops of Wisdom

So! Upon the arrival of my break-up with Eli (after a couple weeks let's be honest) I have realized that I have learned more than I ever could've just listening to someone else give relationship "tips". So, I guess it wouldn't hurt to share mine. (You can take them or leave them. Up to you. If I were you though, I would take them and save yourself the trouble.)

1. Don't limit yourself
If there is something that is important in a high school career it's not limiting yourself to one person. Trust me, I understand the whole "but if I go on a date with more than one person at a time everyone is going to view me as a slut". WRONG. Yes, there are the narrow-minded few but, growing up LDS, I have found that there is some real logic in going on multiple dates at one time. You get a feel for what you do and don't want in an eternal companion. (And, eternity is a long time to spend with one person, but when you find the right person, eternity isn't near long enough.) High school is LITERALLY a crash course career in dating.

2. Be who you want them to be
When I was little, and every year since I have a made a list of the things I want in an eternal companion. Some things like "Strong Testimony", "Unwavering Faith", "Kind", "Compassionate, understanding, smart, funny" and various other things have made the list every year. However, if you want a faithful, worthy, Christ like king, you too must a faithful, worthy and Christ like queen. In the words of Brother Farr: "If God was to place you with a man (or woman) who is worthier than you, that would be a curse to them." You don't want your "perfect" king to be stuck with a queen who doesn't hold the same standards, have the same strong testimony, or is lacking in any way in the gospel. Don't let yourself be a walking curse.

3. Stand in Holy Places...at all times, in all things, and in all places
All I am going to say about this one is that if you have the Spirit with you, anywhere you go is a Holy Place because YOU are a walking holy place.

4. Stare down tempation
Temptation of any kind ruins a relationship. A relationship should be built on trust, Christ and everything good. You shouldn't have to be walking around with baggage and worry of going too far, or messing up your eternal destiny as a child of God. And, sometimes the only answer is to end the relationship, and end the temptation. But, don't just call it quits before working on it.
From a girls standpoint: Yeah, we get blamed a lot for the temptation of guys and we tend to resort to the excuse of "Well, guys should be able to control themselves" but, let's be honest with ourselves ladies, just like you can't control what you see on the computer or the TV guys can't control what they see when you reveal it so explicitly in your clothing. Even though the low cut shirt or the short skirt with the flowers are SUPES CUTE you really want to do that to a guy? Subjecting him to forced violation of his and your spirit? Negative ghostrider. And, I know, I'm not really the one to talk about modesty but, take it from me. Cover. It. Up. And, if my telling you in one worded sentences doesn't work maybe this will:
Close your eyes for a moment...now think about this: when you wear short skirt, tight shirts, revealing articles of clothing you have not just that "cute guy in math class" staring at you, but, you also have grandpa's, older men, women's husbands, your bishop, and your own dad looking at the same thing. Your body. If you're gonna get a guy, do it with your personality not your body. Gross.
*Note: If it so happens that you guys do break up (like me and Eli) think about this: Sure, it feels like a punishment to you that you're all of a sudden being punished for him not being able to control himself but you guys being together is a punishment to him. He shouldn't have to be forced to face that tempation day after day, left to his own faculties to deal with it alone. SOLUTION: BE FRIENDS! It's way better.

Well, this only a few of the raindrops of wisdom that I have to add to your lake of knowledge but it's enough for now.

Like I said, you don't have to take the advice I gave you but, I guess if you don't it's your choice. Go ahead, find out that I'm right the hard way.

AND WHATEVER YOU DO! DON'T DO SOMETHING PERMANENT JUST BECAUSE OF A TEMPORARY FEELING. YOU'LL REGRET IT LATER.

OH ONE MORE THING! DON'T TAKE AWAY FROM HIS SPIRIT OR YOUR SPIRIT. THAT MAKES FOR AN EMPTY RELATIONSHIP OF ANY KIND.

And if there is anything that Eli has taught me in this relationship it's that everything goes both ways. He's taught me to love everyone, and apologize when I am wrong, and a lot more things that would be left unlearned without him.

OVER AND OUT.

#foreveralone

Sooooooooooo I have decided that I am going to be one of those old ladies who own like 50 cats and no husband to show for it. I'm gonna work at a fast food joint and spend all my money on nothing but cat litter and my old trailer. Why?

Why?!

Because on a friday night I am doing NOTHING but watching movies over and over again BY MYSELF while my sisters are out with friends......#sadlife

So yeah.

My only friend is my blanket and my stuffed animal Charley. They're good people...things...? They're real to me. Whateves.

Oh...and Eli is off being cool at a football game. He's so rad (no sarcasm intended)... :)

f;aldkjf;lfkiujtpoiurptoiewj;lkagj;kljfoiutfreopiurwekijr;lj;al <<<<<<<<<<How I feel right now.

Oh! And, here's a story. It goes like this...

*Izzy walks into playroom...
Izzy: Sammy! Why you alone?!
Me: Uh...I have no friends
Izzy: What about Leska (Lexie) and Eli!?
Me: They don't like me anymore. I'm a sad teenager
Izzy: Well, that sucks but I still love you
Me: Oh good..I'm glad. Would you love me if I had lots of cats?
Izzy: No. You'd be stinky.
Me: Oh. I see how it is.
Izzy: Cats are bad. Um..Sammy Eli doesn't like cats.
Me: #foreveralone

Just Thinking to Myself

I tend to go off on tangents in my wee lil brain and they're possibly NO literally ARE the best tangents in the world. You know, often times girls have that cliche dream of being a princess and finding their one true love and being swept off their feet and carried into a palace where they can have peaceful slumbers and dream of pink fluffy things and candy. NOT! ME! Mine are about things like...

Bungee jumping off Mt. Rainer (Note: Please keep in mind that these are, in fact, daydreams and aren't exactly at all feasible nor will I ever have the guts to ACTUALLY do it. For if I did, I would have attractive men falling at my feet. Side Note: I have one attractive guy falling at my feet-Eli-so maybe I am doing something right...just a thought laydays!:))

Being attacked by a demon bear that wants to eat my brains out and I pull some kung-fu magic out of my back pocket and kick his teeth in and finger shoot him. (that's where you like take your fingers and poke them REALLY hard in the eye. However, I don't see how I would be able to actually do it as I would probably pee my pants hardcore if I was actually in front of a pear that was a demon and wanted to eat my brains. That's only slightly scary. SLIGHTLY! I'm gangster so no big deal or anything.)

AND!!!

My one really girly daydream is, in fact, being swept off my feet and being brought to a palace.

As a random little tidbit of my day...

I went to the mall today with Hannah, Lexie and Claire and there was a shirt with Jesus on it on the crucifix. On the top it said "Come At Me Bro" ....I'm not really sure how I feel about it. :/

As shown below...
You let me know how you feel about it and then I will calculate all of the feelings and set my feelings in accordance.

As another tidbit of my day...

At the mall with said people above we were in Forever 21 (let me take a second to breathe as that store is very much heaven to my soul.) and we saw endless amount of LDS missionaries which BTWS people! I want to be one so I was all googly eyed over them because, I'm sorry, but missionaries are so attractive. I want to be attractive...not that I'm not now, cuz I am but ya know...GET ON MY LEVEL!

That is all. The end.

P.S.- This post makes absolutely no sense what so ever..not really sure how I should feel about this either. I'm ashamed. I'm just gonna go cry in a corner about my loss of thought and lack of smarticles to write a blog post that makes sense or at least has any relevancy at all.

That is all. The end.

Kindergarten and Movie Nights

SO! Last night was this "Kindergarten Stake Dance" where everyone dresses up like a kindergartner (I wore dresses LITERALLY everyday so I wasn't gonna dress up. I didn't want to wear a dress.) So! My goal for the night (mind you I had ONE shouldn't be hard to fulfill right?!? WRONG.)

Samantha's Goal: Get Eli to ask me to dance

We walk into the dance and Eli immediately walks over to request a song.

SAM'S THOUGHT: SWEET! HE'S GONNA REQUEST AN AMAZINGLY AWESOME SONG (SLOW SONG MIND YOU) AND WE'RE GONNA DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY BEING COMPLETELY BLINDED BY EACH OTHER AND STARING ALL NIGHT INTO HIS EYES BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WE DO!

1st Slow Song: I stare at him and instead of dancing we....get this.....color. -.-
2nd Slow Song: REDEMPTION TIME! Eli is gonna ask me to dance and I can stare into those eyes and dance superdy slow........EXCEPT not. Round 2 passes just as quickly as round 1. And, get this, we're still coloring.
*I tell my sister to go request a couple songs (special songs) to get Eli to ask. Didn't work. They didn't have them. :( *
3rd Slow Song: T-SWIZZLE! Romeo and Juliet. This. Is gonna happen. Eli gets up and walks away. THE HECK?! Bobby Baddley (Super cool dude.) Asks me to dance. Am I gonna say no?! OF COURSE NOT! We dance and Eli gives me the evil eye. :/ I felt bad because I really wanted to dance with that kid because we are, after all, a couple. I should put that Eli (bless his heart) was going to ask me since this song is one of his favorites and I'm one of his favorite people ;) (I think...) and instead, he got sidelined by Mr. Baddley.

...We argue a little about Bobby and I dancing and what actually went down...

#4: BINGO! Eli asks me to dance. We dance. Staring into each others eyes and finishing our argument. HEAVEN. (minus the arguing. that wasn't so hot.)   Rascal Flatts. Elijah Dean Wilson. Dancing ever so slowly. OHHH YEAH BUDDY!

At this point, dance got super lame. There was literally like maybe a solid 20 people there. I knew MAYBE 6. :( I'm such a loser. ANYWAY! We go to my house and watch a movie. War of the Worlds. Tom Cruise. Scene with no shirt. Oh yeah baby!

I'm sitting next to Eli when the little booger (Izzy Bizzy) comes and sit where? Right. Between. Us. Why? Because she: "loves Eli." akl;gjl;frgjoretiuor4utweoiutgoiejkltgregr <---my feeling right then.

She sits with Eli for a few minutes and continues coming back and forth between Eli and Lexie (a.k.a. laska don't ask why. cuz I don't know.)

Half way through the movie I fall asleep. The movie ends and I wake up in my bed with Eli staring at me. AWK! I tell him goodbye and then go to sleep. A peaceful slumber and I'm sure I dreamt about something but due to the trajectory of the moon I can't remember.

I love Eli. I couldn't be happier with that man. Ohhhh boy!

Until next time.

Homecoming

SOOOOOOOO last weekend I went to homecoming and lemme tell ya! I didn't care about the dance, or the dress, the outfits or the corsage. The thing I cared about most was the man who took me! Ohhh boy!! This kid is possibly one of my favorite people to be alive on this Earth right now. He's adorable and sweet, loving and SO SUPERDY kind! I don't know where I would be without that dude. He is such a blessing in my life!!

He keeps me sane and makes me laugh more than anything in the world. Even when I don't wanna smile. He's truly my best friend and I couldn't ask for ANYTHING better!

Elijah Dean Wilson, keep doin' what you're doin'....it's fabulous! ;)

Finding the YOU in YOU

I can't stress this enough. People are so worried about being like everyone else and that's just PATHETIC! We were created different for a reason. We all have different things we each bring to the table. What my strengths are might not be yours and what your strengths are might not be mine. We all are made different and we're all good at different things because we can't do everything perfectly. God gave us weaknesses so we may be humble. We go to Operas to hear the amazing talent that God has given to someone else, we go to restaurants to savor the flavor that the chefs are able to put onto a perfectly decorated plate because we may not be able to do it so divinely as they can. God did this for a reason. We can't go through this life by ourselves and watching each other succeed in different areas of life is part of that unity that was planned out from the beginning with such care and such sacredness that we can't even begin to comprehend as to why.

As I mentioned above about the chef life is much like that "perfectly decorated plate". The plate is the foundation on which the food is set but also, it's the first thing you see. You expect the waiter to bring a fresh, clean, right out of the washer plate. No blemishes, no spots or stains. The next thing your eyes happen upon is the food. Not only does it have to be the right size, shape or color it also has to smell DIVINE! After staring at the food for a few decadent moments you pick up the utensil with such care and such thought and you scoop a perfectly sized bite and put it into your mouth with an expectation for perfection because after all, the man who made it is supposed to be the master of the restaurant. Each bite is an opportunity for the chef to make it or break it in your eyes. However, it's not just the first bite that you criticize, it's the second, third, fourth and last. It's not just the first taste bud that has to be awakened it has to be a  party fiesta of flavor, each taste bud moving in unison. Starting off with the smooth waltz to begin and easing into the real flavor of a sexy salsa, and ending in a BOOM with a tango. Each bite living up to that expectation. That HIGH expectation. For if even one bite is off the slightest bit the meal is done. Our plate is Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Our plate has no blemishes. The only spots are the ones on the hands and feet and sides of our Savior. The food is the gospel and our friends and our family and the stranger we pass walking down the side of the road on the way to school. We have expectations of people, we set the bar HIGH not because that's what we expect of them but because it's what we expect them to expect of us and it's what we would do for them so after all, they should be able to do it for us.

If we can't find that smooth waltz, the sexy salsa and the BOOM in the tango in other people how on earth do we expect to find it in us!?

Masks are meant for Halloween and Halloween is not everyday. No where close dude. What you are on the inside-whether confident, shy, outgoing, spunky, self-preserved etc-radiates out. What you put into things is what you get out of it. So put EVERYTHING into it and you'll get EVERYTHING out of it. Be the YOU, YOU know YOU can be! Not the you people want you to be. People don't have to live with you 24/7, they don't watch your every move, feel the same emotions you do, they don't find the same things funny, or the same things sad as you so why should they be able to decide what you do, to decide what you find funny or sad, why should they be able to decide your clothing, or the emotion you wear on your face? That's right! They shouldn't! So throw that mask away and I don't EVER want to see it on you again.

God is a perfect being. He made the earth and everything on it, including us. In fact, He made us in His image. When we look down on ourselves, when we criticize ourselves or do any of those to other people we do the same to Him. Think about that the next time you look into the eyes of someone else or stare at yourself in the mirror.

"It's society that's ugly, not you." -Marilyn Monroe

So stop worrying about what other people think because the only person you HAVE to please is you and Heavenly Father and trust me, it's hard to disappoint your Heavenly Father. He's there when you need him and even when you don't. He wants to help you and he wants to see you succeed in whatever it is your heart desires. Everything you do should be drawing you closer to Him and putting yourself down or seeing yourself as anything less than royalty isn't bringing you closer to Him. Pray about it. Read your scriptures. You're not alone. Trust me, you're never alone. No matter what you think.

Do you. No one else can. Be happy. Anyone can be sad.

 One of a Kind
 Author Unknown

My hair is blonde, yours is too,
My eyes are brown and yours are blue.
We are the same in many a way,
Different in others, I hear them say.
But that's ok because you'll find
God made me to be 'one of a kind'.
Nobody laughs just like me,
Can ski down a mountain on their knee.
No one feels things the way I do,
Or will be a friend that is quite so true.
But that's ok because you'll find
God made me to be 'one of a kind'.
There are billions of stars up there in the sky,
None twinkle alike, they don't even try.
There are thousands of girls, some good, some in trouble,
We may look the same, but you'll find no double.
But that's ok because you'll find
God made me to be 'one of a kind'.

Be Yourself

Ever since I was a little kid, I didn't want to be me.
I wanted to be Angie Bray and Angie Bray didn't
even like me.  I walked like she walked; I talked like she talked;
and I signed up for the same high school as she signed up for.

Which was when Angie changed.  She began to hang around
Stephanie Bates.  She walked like Stephanie Bates, she talked
like Stephanie.  She mixed me up!  I began to walk like Angie
Bray walking and talking like Stephanie Bates.

And then it dawned on me that Stephanie Bates walked
and talked like Marissa Murdock.  Marissa Murdock walked
and talked like Alyssa Peterson.

So here I am walking and talking like Angie Bray's imitation of
Stephanie Bates version of Marissa Murdock trying to
walk and talk like Alyssa Peterson.  And who do you think
Alyssa Peterson is always walking and talking like?  Of all people,
Megan Williams.  Megan Williams is the little pest
who walks and talks like me!!

If God should care enough to make
each and every little snowflake,
then how precious in His sight,
is one child living in His light!
